CANADA WILL TAKE TO THE ICE IN CALGARY FROM DECEMBER 10TH TO 15TH
CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), announced on Monday
that the country’s best junior-aged players will take part in Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp
Dec. 10-15 in Calgary, AB, at the Father David Bauer Olympic Arena.
The camp will be used to determine which 22 players compete for Canada at the 2007 IIHF World Junior
Championship, which is taking place in Mora and Leksand, Sweden from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.
Hockey Canada will name its camp roster of 32-40 players on Monday, Dec. 4. Players will arrive in Calgary
on Sunday, Dec. 10, and they’ll have ice sessions in the late afternoon and early evening.
All practices at the selection camp are open to the public, free of charge. Team Canada will play two
intersquad games, on Dec. 12 and 13 at 6 p.m. (MT). Tickets for those games will be sold at the door only for
$5.
Canada also will play a game against the CIS All-Stars, a team made up of players from the University of
Calgary, University of Alberta and University of Saskatchewan, on Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. (MT). That game is part
of a double-header at Father David Bauer Arena, as the Calgary Royals will play host to the Okotoks Oilers in
AJHL action at 8:30 p.m. Fans can see both games for $10.
Tickets to the intersquad games and the exhibition game against the CIS All-Stars are not available for
sale in advance, and are only available at the door, beginning two hours prior to game time.
